Account Director.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven Account Director to join our Client Services team. A key senior role within the agency, you will be responsible for the development and commercial growth of client relationships alongside coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team.

As an experienced Account Director, you will be at home working to targets, creating and building client relationships and working with multidisciplinary teams on creative challenges.


Primary responsibilities:

Driving commercial success: working closely with the Client Services Director, you will manage the overall sales target, working with the wider Client Services team to identify and create opportunities within existing and new client relationships to meet the commercial targets of the agency.

Proposals and pitches:  you will be well versed in taking the lead on developing persuasive and creative high-quality proposals and pitch documents for new and existing clients. You’ll also be an experienced presenter, able to communicate creative ideas and approaches passionately to stakeholders at all levels.

Negotiating: you will have experience of negotiating and closing large commercial agreements including contractual terms and conditions of service.

Client development: spending time with your clients, you’ll get to know their business, customers and market and be responsible for creating and executing individual plans for their development.

Project Management: with an eye for detail and strong commercial focus, you’ll be able to oversee projects from inception to delivery maintaining the quality, profitability and scope of all projects you own.

Coaching: you’ll be an experienced line manager and be able to coach and mentor junior members of the team, teaching tradecraft and helping them to achieve their objectives.


Required Skills:

Excellent relationship building skills: you must be able to create rapport and build strong long-lasting relationships with clients at all levels.

Excellent communication skills: it is essential that you are fully confident to take on a client-facing role with the necessary skills required to work with, negotiate and manage clients, suppliers and colleagues.

Attention to detail: you must have a keen eye for detail and a calm approach when under pressure.

Passion and creative thinking: you must have the ability to problem solve and think creatively, coupled with the passion and drive to deliver great work.


Required experience:

  • At least 4 years’ experience in a Client Services role within a creative agency environment or similar.
  • At least two years’ experience of managing and owning client/stakeholder relationships, with responsibility for account development, sales targets & reporting and management.
  • A solid understanding of the digital landscape ideally gained through hands-on experience of managing digital client accounts.
  • Experience of working with print / brand is also desirable.
  • Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent): preferably in marketing / business management or similar.
