Experience the plains of Africa.
Having joined forces with Banham Zoo in 1991 and later becoming part of the Zoological Society of East Anglia (ZSEA), Africa Alive! needed a new website to better communicate the unrivalled experience that was on offer to visitors.
A family affair.
Having already completed the new site for Africa Alive’s sister attraction, Banham Zoo we needed to create an online experience that reflected both attractions as a family under the ZSEA banner. Using the existing site analytics data, we were able to identify the functional elements that were most important to visitors when panning their visit, alongside the all important conversion journey, to lay out the new site structure and ideal customer flows.
Bringing Africa alive.
Taking inspiration from the plains we introduced traditional patterns synonymous with African textiles and tribes. An earthy, natural colour palette and playful graphics such as animal tracks and safari stamps added to the theme. Animation and movement also build on the playful nature of the site to encourage visitors to interact with the attraction even before their visit starts.
