A forgotten corner of Norwich.

A long-abandoned listed building on Kings Street, Norwich, this previously empty, unloved property in a historic corner of what was once England’s second city sparked a vision with our client. Wisely, they approached the one agency who could turn their dream of a themed gastro pub into a successful, thriving reality.

The focus of our campaign was very much on the history of the listed building and the street on which it’s located. Looking back to Medieval times, we compiled a comprehensive collection of historical stories and discovered that in a street which used to house fifty-eight pubs, there was now just one remaining. Raise a glass to the Last Pub Standing.

Legends, myths and truths.

We created a set of nineteen stories that explored the various myths, legends and truths surrounding the area.  Designed to work in both print and digital, each story has a very distinctive graphic element, one full of British quirkiness. While the stories themselves are fascinating historical narratives that serve to enchant, thrill, and educate the audience. We even got to meet Mr Harris, the resident ghost. Who knows, if you sit in his favourite seat, you too may still detect the faint aroma of tobacco from his trusty nineteenth century Victorian clay pipe!

The finer things in life.

Targeting Norwich’s growing number of ABC1 professionals, we created a campaign that entertains, engages, and educates. This is an audience with disposable income who appreciate the finer things in life, they’re city-based and, until now, had few after-work options for a quality gastronomic experience. Drawn to Norwich by the city’s expanding economy, many are new to the area and find the history, stories and legends surrounding The Last Pub Standing’s location in King Street fascinating.
