Keeping positive.

Positive health and wellbeing are essential to achieving potential. To do this, it’s vital we have support and guidance from friends to navigate life’s journey.

This is a philosophy shared by the University of Suffolk and one they wanted to communicate with students that had applied for places on courses to start in September 2019. Keen to keep in touch and ensure applicants remained front of mind, the University also wanted to reiterate their unique values as a university that cares.

De-stress and relax.

To achieve this, we created a care package that could easily be posted to potential students encouraging them to take some time out for themselves. As well as helping them to de-stress and relax, either away from revising for exams or working hard to save money, the package and its contents would also need to communicate the mental health and wellbeing services the University offers to all its students.

Ways to Wellbeing.

We created a package title ‘It’s all about you’ filled with a range of treats and reading materials that took inspiration from Mind’s ‘Ways to Wellbeing’. It included a free month’s membership to the campus gym to reduce stress and build self-esteem; a snack bar from our friends at Eat Natural to fuel mood; two notebooks – one to write thoughts in and one to give to a friend; a tea bag to encourage taking a break; and stickers with inspirational quotes to spark positive conversation.

From day one, the team at Creative Sponge showed great enthusiasm for this project and were always responsive and supportive. We are delighted with the final result and the feedback we have received from students. Simon Smith

Empowering students.

Students now understand their value, encouraged to engage with their coursemates, and confident the University is there for them whenever needed. By providing a tangible product relating to positive wellbeing, it empowers students to reflect on their mental health – helping them to achieve their full potential both at university and beyond.
