Gresham’s School appointed Sponge to completely redesign and rebuild its website, a transformation that would reflect the school’s rich heritage, forward-looking ambition, and vibrant co-educational spirit.

The previous site no longer captured the energy of life at Gresham’s or supported the school’s strategic focus on digital recruitment. The new site needed to celebrate the school’s character while delivering a seamless, high-performing experience for prospective families and the wider community.

Challenge: To create a digital presence that felt unmistakably Gresham’s – rooted in tradition yet forward-looking – while improving SEO, performance and the journey for multiple audiences.

Solution: We led with discovery, combining stakeholder workshops, audience research and a content audit to define clear user journeys. This shaped a clean, modular design system that blends academic rigour with a warm, welcoming tone. Built on WordPress using reusable components, the site enables rapid updates, intuitive navigation and future scalability.
